Warm Horizon Chapter Eight

Here anger and its pertinence to depression are discussed, and the relationship of anger to shame is revealed as well as the problem of inadvertently directly anger inwardly as it pertains to shame and to depression. Further encouragement and suggestions based on proven helpful measures for managing, but not necessarily eliminating, depression-related anger are provided. Helpers are further reassured regarding their necessity of handling, and hopefully helping, anger-laden loved ones. Ideas for helping are suggested--with explanation. In Section IV the tendency for young adults t develop depression after their school or college years--with its natural social life--are over is discussed. This is one of the natural times in life to find oneself becoming depressed. A helpful perspective and the importance of convincing ourselves that as a person we cannot be unacceptable are emphasized. Finally, notes are provided that reassure readers that many who become depressed do not have major problems with anger, and that heavy focus on this subject will be unnecessary for them.
