Warm Horizon Chapter Four

This chapter identifies the normal human shame mechanism as the "tool" with which the brain initiates and then increases in snowball fashion the severity of depressive illness. Along with discussing how our shame mechanism is triggered to produce depression, practices that recovered depressives have successfully used are revealed. Recommendations for helping with negative thoughts are also made that have been successful for those mostly recovered from the illness. Also, significant others are provided information as to what problems their depressed loved one might manifest, along with suggestions as to how they might best cope with the task of helping someone with such a stubborn illness. Finally, in Sections IV and V the shame driven depressive phenomena are embellished and exemplified so as to provide readers the total understanding needed in order to fully rid oneself of depression.
